Natasha and Luca are both Reiki Masters and were initiated in 2009 by Luca’s mother (Reiki Master, practitioner since 1993). Reiki treatments are available from either Natasha or Luca, or both, on retreats.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a specific band or frequency of energy. Reiki is a safe, gentle, non-intrusive Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes holistic healing. Using specific hand positions and sacred symbols, Reiki is administered through a practitioner’s hands to themselves and others.
What does Reiki mean?
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words:
Rei is translated as the ‘wisdom and knowledge of all the Universe’.
Ki is the universal life-force energy which flows through every living thing.
So Reiki is actually ‘spiritually guided life force energy’.
How does Reiki work?
Before a person can practice Reiki, they must go through ‘spiritual empowerment’ under the supervision of a Reiki Master. The student becomes an energetic channel through which Reiki can flow from the Source, through the student’s energy body and out through their hands.
So when having a Reiki treatment, you are not receiving the practitioner’s energy; they are simply a vessel or channel, through which Reiki can pass. Students are also taught sacred Reiki symbols which further empower the Reiki energy.
What does Reiki do?
As Reiki flows into our aura and physical body, it helps break down energetic disruptions or blockages, clearing and balancing the chakras and straightening the energy pathways (meridians) to allow the life-force to flow in a healthy and natural way around the body.
How will Reiki help my fast or cleanse?
Our thoughts and feelings are strong forces of energy that control all cells in the body. Negative emotions and bad memories are stored in the body and create dis-ease. When we fast or cleanse, an amazing emotional transformation often occurs when mucoid plaque is released. Reiki can assist with the release of these negative feelings, energy and blockages. Reiki also rebalances the body, mind and spirit - promoting peace and harmony during your fast or cleanse.
What happens during a Reiki treatment?
A treatment usually starts with the client (person receiving the treatment) chatting casually to the practitioner about what brought them to Reiki and any concerns (physical or emotional) they may be experiencing. The client then lies down on the table and simply relaxes. The client is fully clothed and only the shoes are removed.
Reiki is performed by the practitioner either placing their hands directly on the client’s body or just above (2 inches above). Both methods are equally effective. Using specific hand positions and sacred symbols, the practitioner will start at the crown of the client’s head and work their way down the body. The practitioner often feels sensations in their hands during the treatment.
The client does not have to ‘do’ anything, just ‘be’ peaceful and relaxed. Ideally, the client should concentrate on slow breathing and may visualize something peaceful if they wish or silently repeat a mantra if they have one.
What to expect?
Reiki is a holistic treatment and experiences during a Reiki treatment vary from person to person. Some examples are:
- Physical sensations such as tingles, hot or cold flushes
- Extreme happiness and outward laughter
- Releasing of emotions and crying
- Old memories resurfacing and clearing
- Inner truths realized
- Falling asleep
- Having visions of people, objects, light, colours
- Deep relaxation
Will Reiki heal me?
There is a difference between the words ‘cure’ and ‘heal’. Curing means to eradicate an illness completely. Whereas healing can occur on many levels:
- Physical - this might mean eradicating an illness completely or simply alleviating the symptoms for a time.
- Mental - this could enable you to think differently about your illness, perhaps bring your attention to the lessons your illness is trying to teach you.
- Emotional - this could allow you to calm any fears and to reach an acceptance of the effects of the illness.
- Spiritual - this could enable you to develop a more loving and forgiving relationship with yourself or perhaps even to make a peaceful transition into death.
Reiki acts to heal, harmonize and balance the whole self. If the client wants more information, they should talk to the practitioner about ‘Body Wisdom’ / ‘Body Language’.
Does Reiki always work?
Reiki always works - but not always how we expect it to! Because Reiki is guided by a Higher Intelligence, it makes its way to those areas of the physical body and energy body that are most in need of healing. This is done without any conscious direction from either the healer or recipient. Reiki always works for our ‘highest and greatest good’, so if your higher self is not meant to receive the Reiki, then it simply won’t.
What happens after a treatment?
After a Reiki treatment, the client should drink lots of water and take it easy. It is important to rest and be gentle with yourself, don’t do anything too loud or busy, just be. Energy and emotions may have been released during the treatment and it is important that the client pay attention to any thoughts or feelings that arise after the treatment. Writing thoughts and feelings down post-treatment is a good idea.
Is Reiki a religion?
Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not because it comes from a Higher Source.
Not a substitute!
Reiki is not a substitute for any medical advice or treatment. Reiki healers are not trained in diagnosis; if you are concerned about your symptoms you should seek traditional medical treatment or the advice of a relevant medical professional. Reiki healers do not subscribe drugs.
“I had a Reiki treatment with Natasha that completely changed my life. I experienced myself in a new way that brought an instant end to years of damaging behaviours and led me to embrace a healthier lifestyle and open myself to a new spiritual direction. After travelling on to Cambodia, I made the best decision of my life in returning to Thailand to follow-up with Natasha about something that I had held on to during my Reiki treatment - what I had come to realise was a blockage in my throat chakra. My second Reiki treatment with Natasha was an even more wonderful, transformational, healing experience than the first. I feel like the blockage was cleared and that my voice has been freed. Anxieties and fears that I have lived with for years have gone. Natasha created a safe, spiritual space in which I was able to face and let go of years of pain. Natasha also provided me with tools and information to take with me, enabling me to continue my journey of healing, and was extremely perceptive in knowing what I needed to hear and in empowering me to speak my truth. Natasha is truly a healer and is completely dedicated in using her gift - giving her time, focus and insightful suggestions so generously, and making herself available to follow-up on the treatment or answer questions. As a result of the amazing healing experience that I had through Reiki with Natasha, I have been able to let go of medications that I previously relied on to cope with anxiety; I have been able to take professional opportunities that I previously thought were beyond my reach; and my personal relationships have been immensely enriched. Natasha has helped me to open the door to a wonderful new life”.

"How to describe such an amazing experience that is unlike any other I have ever lived through before. I had my first Reiki experience just a few days before Christmas. Skeptical I was and expecting very little and although my boyfriend somewhat convinced me it would be beneficial even if I experienced nothing but calmness, I went in feeling that I may be wasting my time. I cannot explain how this experience came about given I was never touched and I assure no special drinks were given to me prior to the experience but I went on an incredible journey, flying through the sky then seeing vivid and colorful images and experiencing something very special. I still do not understand what I experienced but I felt calm during and after this experience. Luca and Natasha made me feel comfortable and they are lovely people so to those skeptics out there reading this, go for it and enjoy the ride if you dare".
